Brass gear, delica beads, enameled and gilt porcelain depicting lake Konstanz, gilt frame with ivory rim
Pure, mathematical logic seems like it should be very useful in daily life.
It is actually rather limited.
The perfect gears of logic are only useful as a lens with which to see the natural world around you. Being familiar with it allows you to see the many inconsistencies, fallacies, tautologies, and paradoxes that are abundant in arguments, debates, commercials, and cocktail conversations. And once you have recognized the inductive, deductive, truth-functional, relational, modal, and fuzzy logical propositions, the only rational response is humor.
